hwalo story

Hwalo korean steakhouse. "Fire" has always been one of the most important elements since the beginning of our civilization. Our Korean ancestors called the vessel that holds this important "fire" a "hwalo." Before the 20th century, when we did not have all the inventions we enjoy today, the "hwaro" was an indispensable tool in Korea. It was used to heat homes and contained embers for warmth. A "hwaro" filled with embers would be brought into the room, serving as a small heater and a cooking tool for making meals. Families would gather around the "hwalo," placing a grill on top to cook meat and enjoy joyful moments together.
